5 Things You Can Do Every Day To Boost Your Confidence
One of the things that I’m thankful for is that my parents raised me to be confident. Now, don’t get me wrong, being confident is something I still struggle with daily, but I know that I’m loved, supported, and that I can achieve whatever I set my goals to be.
That doesn’t mean that life and people can’t drag me down. It’s a daily struggle, and there is a part of me that questions my entire life sometimes such as this blog, my career choice in education, and am I a good enough mom and wife.
But with each struggle, there comes a plan of improvement behind it. There are 5 things that we can do every day to boost our confidence, and I’m here to share them!
One of the biggest lessons that I’ve learned is to speak up for things I believe in or don’t agree with. Yes, people have different opinions than me, and I’m respectful of their opinions, but it doesn’t mean that I have to agree with them. Speaking up and letting my thoughts be heard has given me more confidence than ever. It makes me feel valuable and worthy to be heard.
So, next time that you want to speak up, do it! It’s okay to let other people know your opinions and thoughts. AND if you do speak up, I have a feeling that you will want to do it again!
Empower Yourself With Knowledge
I’ve learned that empowering yourself with knowledge can build your self-confidence in so many ways. If you are struggling in your business or career, then make yourself better by researching techniques to make your business or career choice strive.
When I started my photography company and Just My Day, I would always compare myself to other bloggers and photographers. Even though it’s natural to compare your work to someone else, comparisons can also bring your self-confidence down.
So, I’ve learned that gaining knowledge to help my business and career choice has also helped my self-confidence.
AND you don’t have to stop with building your knowledge about your business or career choice. You can learn about makeup, fashion, cooking, or more! And it’s easy because access to knowledge is everywhere! You can read a book, listen to a podcast, or even watch some YouTube tutorials.
Keep Your Appearance Up and Stay Healthy
Yes, this is an obvious one, but it’s very true. I’ve learned that by showering, shaving and getting out of pajamas can turn my mood around completely. It’s important to take care of yourself because that’s your self-image, and it will build self-confidence.
I’m not saying that you have to get up and put on nice clothes or shave everyday, but if you do it most of the time, you’ll feel good about yourself.
Also, staying healthy is very important. Drinking water, taking vitamins, and exercise can boost your self-confidence a lot! (And with this being said, I really need to get back into the grove of doing all three because it really does help my mood and mindset.)
BE KIND and Positive
YES, I said it BECAUSE it’s TRUE. When you are kind to others, you will build positive relationships around yourself which results in less stress and negativity. Being kind will build your self-esteem and confidence. Kindness includes being kind to others as well as yourself. It can come in forms of a smile, friendly words, an act of random kindness, volunteering, or helping someone. Now, don’t mistake kindness for pleasing everyone because that can lead to people taking advantage of you
When you are kind, you are making a difference in someone’s life, and that’s pretty empowering to know that your actions matter!
Face Your Fears
Facing your fears can be monumental for growing self-confidence. WHY? Well, fear causes inaction, and when you conquer your fears, wisdom will come allowing you to step outside of your comfort zone to achieve success. When people fear failure, they usually let that stop them from taking action, but I’m here to tell you, DO NOT LET IT STOP YOU! Learn from your failures and try again! Always focus on the big picture and have faith! Do not let fear paralyze you because once you step outside of your comfort zone, you will realize that some things are not as bad as they seem. Facing your fears will leave you with a boost of confidence knowing that you CAN do something that you’ve never wanted to do before.
What About You?
