WORKING OUT

I am going to be totally honest! I hate working out! Hate is such a strong word too, but it’s true. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I grew up playing sports, and I was always active in some way until I graduated high school, but I still hated the work outs. After graduation, I basically stopped working out. I didn’t have the motivation. I mean, I find myself making a New Year’s resolution every year, and I stick to a routine for a few weeks before I become burnt out. However, this year is different. I started my fitness routine before New Years, and this isn’t some sort of resolution that will fail once again.

WHY, You ask.

Well, let me start by saying that I have high blood pressure. I found out that I had it while I was pregnant with my daughter. I developed Pre-eclampsia during my pregnancy, and after my daughter was born, my blood pressure never went back down.

And, the whole reason for the new fitness routine is to get my blood pressure back to normal and live a healthier lifestyle.

So, I hired a personal trainer to get me started, and he told me that this would be a disciplined journey.

And he is very right. No, I do not want to go workout everyday, but it’s a must. It’s something I need to do, so I can live longer and see my children grow up.

AND with everything hard, I need motivation, so I decided to share 5 motivation tips that help me stay on track.

5 Motivation Tips to Working Out

1- Schedule your work outs.

Yes, just like you would do for a doctor’s appointment. If it’s already in your calendar, then it will be easier to commit to them.

2- Find a work out friend.

Find someone that will commit to the workouts just like you and hold you accountable. I have a friend that joins me at the gym, and we hired a personal trainer together. And both of them hold me accountable. My friend will text me to see if I’m on my way to the gym, and my trainer will tell me to make sure and add protein to my meal prep each week.

3- Treat Yourself.

Give yourself some sort of treat each time you get past a hurdle. If you stick to your workout schedule for a week or month, then go buy some new workout clothes or have a drink with your friends. Speaking of workout clothes. Check out my favorite high waist leggings below. They are the greatest because they stay up, suck things in, and are thick enough that they don’t show anything. πŸ™‚ Trust me, you will LOVE THEM!

4- Follow Inspirational Instagram Accounts.

There are so many people on social media that are inspiring, and I follow a ton of Instagram accounts that post their workouts, meal prep, and motivation each day. Every time that I think I want to skip out on a workout session, I just search one of the accounts I follow and look through their feed for inspiration to get up and go!

5- Do it for your health.

Work out and start eating right, so you can live longer. Once you start doing it for yourself, you will enjoy all the benefits that come along with it. You will also feel so much better!

And don’t forget, even with motivation, it will still be hard. But you CAN DO IT! You are not alone!
